Troubleshooting

The Computers Won't Turn On:

Check that the powerstrip (located kinda smushed in the center of the bottom platform) is both plugged into the wall, and is ON. Check that the monitors are also on. Check for any power cables that aren't plugged into anything. Check the connections between each cable.

Then, if things still aren't working, Slack Sarp.

There is No Paperwork:

2 Options*:

1) Ask to use a photocopier to copy pages from Erin's Emergency Black Binder. 2) Use the pages from the binder and email/slack point person to print out replacements.

*can't decide which one to go with? Flip a coin.

There is No Money

Big oof. You're going to have to use an ATM (nearby locations) and get reimbursed. Make Sure To Get A Receipt.

The Speakers Aren't Working

No Time? Get out the electric tape. Get the speaker that the Aux cord plugs into (the one with tape on the back). Find a youtube video that has consistent sound (your favorite music video, perhaps). Wiggle the cord until you get sound, and use the electric tape to secure it in place, over the tape that's already there. Make sure the tape hasn't slid around.

Do you have time? Get out the electric tape, and get the speaker that the Aux cord plugs into (the one with tape on the back). Remove the tape (you may want to ask for scissors). Find a youtube video that has consistent sound (your favorite music video, perhaps). Wiggle the cord until you get sound, and use the electric tape to secure it in place. *maybe we should look into getting a different cord and seeing if it helps

Make sure you don't accidentally turn them off in the process

The Camcorder Battery is Dead/Too Low

Plug it in. There is a USB-A extension cord from a brick on the power-strip to the camera. It CAN record video and charge at once*, so plug it in asap but set it up so the cord leading to it is unobtrusive.

*It cannot record and be plugged into a computer at once, however.

The Camcorder Memory is Full:

Plug the camcorder into the computer that runs windows. Open the folder that says "unc_emergency_dump." No folder? Make one with that title. Open the Camcorder's screen, and then you should see the camcorder pop up as a removable drive on the computer. Open it, and move ALL Videos from the camcorder into "unc_emergency_dump." Then unplug the camcorder, and, opening the menu, format the SD card. Make sure to tell a point person that this has been done, so they can take the video and do important things with it.

The Camcorder Only Sees Black:

Open the Lens Cover:

The Lamps are at the Wrong Setting

Adjust them to ______ using the buttons on the bar or the remote (located under the money in the lock-box.
