Old Video Importing

This shows how to import non-looxcie videos.

Camcorder

Panasonic

  1. Plug camera in and go to Private/AVCHD/BDMV/Stream

  2. Drag video into your new folder in Bergelson 2014-2, do not rename the file. You may see that the recording is split into two files, this camcorder breaks up files for large recordings.

  3. Allow video to transfer completely, and charge the camcorder using the wall charger.

Cleaning out the Panasonic

  1. After camcorder is fully charged, confirm that the recording(s) present in the camcorder are all on the drive.

    a. The correct way to do this is to view some of the video on the camcorder before you delete it, and check that the length of the corresponding recording on the computer is ~1 hr.

    b. Switch the button located on the back of the camera to the left (the play mode) to view the videos

  2. You can delete the footage off the camera by selecting trash button located on the left inside panel of the camcorder and selecting "Trash" on the view screen using the side navigation buttons.

Sony

  1. Connect the camcorder and browse to HDR-CX240/Storage Media, and select folder with the date of file

  2. Drag the file into the new folder you created on Bergelson2014-2 and allow to transfer. The camcorder does not allow you to rename files.

  3. Once file transfers, eject the camcorder and charge the camera using the wall charger.

Cleaning out the Sony

  1. After camcorder is fully charged, confirm that the recording(s) present in the camcorder are all on the drive.

    a. The correct way to do this is to view some of the video on the camcorder before you delete it, and check that the length of the corresponding recording on the computer is ~1 hr.

    a. You can view the videos on the camcorder by browsing to the play mode using the side buttons and selecting the video you want to view.

  2. Delete videos from the camera by selecting trash button while viewing the video.

  3. FORMAT the camcorder by going to Menu --> Set Up --> Format --> Memory card and selecting OK.

USB Audio Recorder

The audio file should be drag/dropped into the appropriate subject folder on Desktop/Seedlings, then the USB should be wiped clean.
