Receiving a new VI LENA

Set up gift card payment

• Post a message on Slack in the gift-card-participant-payments channel to let lab staff know that a new VIHI participant is ready for payment

File path for payment tracking spreadsheet

• Open PaymentTracking.xslx and fill in columns A-F. LENA participants receive $35 (plus $20 if they also did surveys!)

Import the LENA

• Instructions here

Assign a VIHI_ID to the recording

• Calculate participant's age in days using the date of birth and date of recording

• Add a line in VIHI_participant_IDswith the relevant information

Transfer the data to the BLab share

• Connect to Blab share (private page)

• Create a new folder under Fas-Phyc-PEB-Lab/VIHI/SubjectFiles/LENA/VI

• Locate .wav and .upl file on Buttercup. After importing, they will appear inWindows/LENA/ with the date of importing in the file name

• Copy and paste the .wav and .upl into the new folder on BLab share, and rename the files "VI_XXX_XXX.wav" and "VI_XXX_XXX.upl"

• Log onto https://o.lena.org/

• Select Data Exports from the upper left hand menu

• On the Reporting Data tab,

  • For Transaction Date, select Latest Recording Date

  • For Participants, select the relevant participant from the dropdown menu

  • Download the 5 minute detail

Reporting Data

• Place this .csv file into the new folder on BLab share, and rename the file "VI_XXX_XXX_lena5min.csv"

• On the ITS Files tab,

  • For Transaction Date, select Latest Recording Date

  • For Participants, select the relevant participant from the dropdown menu

  • Download the .its files

ITS Files tab

• Unzip this folder, then place the .its file into the new folder on BLab share, and rename the file "VI_XXX_XXX.its"

• The folder should now contain 4 files:

Put away the materials

• Wash the vest (machine wash/dry low heat, unscented detergent)

• Charge LENA, then place in bubble sleeve in LENA box

File the paperwork

• Consent form

  • Sign and date

  • Update FutureContact column on VIHI_contact_information.xslx

• Secure Data Libraries

  • Sign and date

  • Fill out DataLibrariesPermissions.xlsx

  • Use this form to create a Cast of Characters list in XX_XXX_XXX_Coding_Issues.docx

• Payment Forms

  • Sign and date

• Double check that VIHI_contact_information.xslx is up to date

• Place all forms in a file folder, label with participant ID, and place in alphabetical order in VIHI filing cabinet

Add random and high-volubility regions

• Generate an .eaf using the segment sampling script
