Click "register" on the Databrary home page.
Create an account using your Duke email address, confirm your email, and set a secure password.
For the "authorization" process, set your role as "Affiliate" and search Elika's name in the "PI" box. This will send a request to her for authorization. Ask her to approve it.
Once approved, click on "view profile" and you will see a list of all the associated volumes of data, including one for each month of SEEDLINGS.
Before any uploading can begin, you must make sure that a few things have already been completed: a. The videos (and coding files) have been checked for Personal Information (see the Video Cleanup Wiki for guidelines) b. The videos have been scrubbed (see the Video Scrubbing Wiki for guidelines) Note: The best place to see if these items are done is the Meta_Data_Cleanup Document
After confirming that the videos have been checked for PI and successfully scrubbed (you will know if a video has been scrubbed if there is an _video_scrubbed.mp4 file in the processing folder), you can continue preparing for upload
Migrate a copy of each FINAL video (e.g., 01_06_video.mp4 for those without PI and 01_06_video_scrubbed.mp4 for those with PI) to a local folder and make sure they are labeled as follows: a. Videos without PI become 01_06_video_noPI.mp4 b. Videos with PI that have been scrubbed become 01_06_video_scrubbed.mp4
As an authorized user/collaborator with the SEEDLingS project, you will be able to upload files to Databrary on the Get Help with Upload tab
The process is very streamlined and simple a. Drag your properly named files into the Upload Files Regionb. You will also need to upload a version of the Seedlings Corpus_Ingest_Spreadsheet.xlsx which lives in the following directory: /Volumes/seedlings/Databrary
c. This document relays specific participant information about the batch of videos you are uploading (test date, permissions release level, participant ID, demographic information, file name, etc.)
d. You will only have to edit test_date, permissions release level (as it may change from month to month), group name, and file name
After you drag everything into the box, the upload will take quite a bit of time (~4-6 hours) IMPORTANT: Leave this page open and undisturbed during the upload process! Progress bars will give you an estimate on how quickly files are being ingested
You will have to fill out this small questionnaire every time you do an upload:
a. No to Databrary release b. Yes to equivalent c. Completed and Ready to Share will depend on where they study is in its timeline (ask a staff member or Elika if you have a question on this)
Make sure that everything looks as it should on the front page of our Volume
Let a staff member or Elika know if you have any final questions or if something looks off
