RA FAQ

How many hours a week should I focus on each type of task?

Generally, contribute five hours a week to working on your mentor's specific project tasks, and the other five hours a week on lab general tasks, like recruiting and transcription. Recruiting will take up 1-2 hours and the rest should probaly be transcription. This will shift a little week to week as you help out with study visits and miscellaneous administration tasks.

Taking Care of Yourself During a Shift

  • In the basement, there are two vending machines to grab a snack or drink! We also have a fridge and microwave open for use in the kitchenette on the 11th floor, especially during a longer shift.

  • Bathrooms are located on either side of the elevators.

  • There is a water fountain next to the men's room on the Thomas lab side of the elevators

  • Be COVID & flu cautious! If you are not feeling well before or during a shift, err on the side of caution. Our priority is keeping a healthy and safe environment for young families.
