various calendar scheduling
please read this in its entirety c:
no need to retroactively change what's already on the calendar but moving forward we should just do Parent 1, Parent 2 instead of Mom first name, Dad first name
added 'Minimum time to wait before contacting them back' component to the calendar event. At the end of a lab visit, ask the parent how long to wait before they want to be contacted back by CHILD studies (default is one month, unless they choose otherwise). Update their calendar event accordingly.
when proposing an appointment time:
if you offer a block of time (such as "we are free 1-5pm on weds" then do not reserve the time in the calendar (do not reserve four hours for 'scheduling'); RIP if their desired time gets taken before they reply
if you offer one specific appointment (such as "would 3pm on tues work for you") then reserve the time in the calendar for them (block off the hour as 'scheduling')
put 15 mins buffer between lab visits (sometimes researchers will not do this themselves, but when we schedule we should do put 15 mins buffer)
feel free to update any part of the gitbook if u see any remnants

Checklist for recruitment
please reference the notes pinned to the front of the recruitment binder -- use them as a checklist before communicating with participants. the checklist may help when autopilot fails! i am seeing appointments scheduled for times when the experimenter is not actually available to run the experiment, and dates proposed without having verified the participant's eligibility
feel free to send suggestions

New Project
We are also initiating ELASI, the study with hearing and vision impaired infants. Erin is the point person for this study. When parents call the lab, we should ask them "Are you calling about a child with vision or hearing impairments?" If the answer is YES, then ask them to hold, and see if Erin is in her office to take the call. If Erin is not available, ask Hallie to take the call. If neither is available, please ask the family for a good time to call them back and write the message down for Erin/Hallie.
12/5/18
DM, CR
New Studies
We're recruiting for two new studies in RPAD, both of which are in the discrimination booth. If you haven't seen the booth, ask Federica or Shannon to show you. Recruitment is the same, just without saying "eye tracking study"--you can call it a "language study where we'll show your baby images on screens and play sounds for them to listen to." Studies are abbreviated TVS and SRD.
