CLF Visit Training

To run the CLF visits, a research must undergo the following training:

  1. Complete the steps for eyetracking training, pass written & road tests

  2. Attend an informational session with Staff/Grads

Set up a time where a trained experimenter takes you to the CLF room and explains how behavioral tasks run. Ask questions and get acquainted with the setup.

  1. Attend task training session

This session should be set up with a trained experimenter. Try the tasks for yourself and try to run them from memory, with the trained experimenter giving you pointers as you go.

  1. Coding practice

Watch participant videos of past appointments on the blabshare (Fas-Phyc-PEB-Lab/experimental_projects/CLF/Videos). Practice coding in real time (try not to pause the video so you can get a feel of real timing!). Have a trained experimenter check your work, discuss any differences.

  1. Observe

Sit in on at least two CLF appointments, during which you'll act as a second coder.

  1. Run a Grad Student/Staff Member

  2. Assist

Run one, two, or all three behavioral tasks in an appointment as second researcher

  1. Act as primary researcher during an appointment (with a trained secondary researcher)

If the trained second chair gives you the all clear, you are good to run solo!

Done! Congrats, you're CLF trained!
